Paid in dollars, paying rent in another currency?
The Multi-Currency Bookkeeping System is a spreadsheet for small businesses and freelancers who earn and spend in more than one currency, such as USD, EUR, GBP, AED, SAR, LBP or any other.
Record each transaction in the currency it actually happened in. The workbook converts it to your base currency using an editable exchange-rate table, with an optional per-row rate override that locks in the day's real rate — important when a currency is volatile. Everything rolls up into a monthly Profit & Loss by category and a cash-flow dashboard with charts, account balances and an income-by-currency breakdown.
Transfers between your own accounts, owner contributions and drawings, loans and money-changer currency exchanges are tracked as cash movements without distorting your profit.
What's inside
- Ledger with a currency on every row: date, description, category, account and currency dropdowns; amounts entered as positive numbers. Type, rate used, base amount, signed amount and month are calculated automatically. 1,500 rows pre-built.
- Editable exchange-rate table (up to 20 currencies), entered as units per 1 base currency, with inverse rate, last-updated column and a base-rate check.
- Rate override per transaction: record the actual rate of the day (money changer, bank or platform) so past months don't change when you update the table.
- Automatic conversion to any base currency you choose in Settings.
- Categories you control: 20 income, 40 expense, plus "other" inflows and outflows (transfers, owner money, loans, currency exchange) that affect cash but not profit.
- Monthly P&L: every category by month with totals, % of income, net profit and net margin.
- Cash-flow dashboard: 12 KPI cards, monthly cash-flow table with closing balance, top expense categories, income and expenses by currency, account balances and 4 charts.
- Accounts: cash drawers, bank accounts and wallets (e.g. Wise, Whish, OMT, PayPal), each with its own currency, opening balance and live balance.
- Error catching: rows missing a date, category, account, currency or rate turn yellow and are counted on the dashboard.
